Fair deal on a 2015 Acura TLX, ty YAA!

I am so glad I joined this community before finalizing another vehicle purchase.   I am fully aware that the market at the moment is the worst time ever to buy, but I had little choice in the matter.   My ancient Subaru was falling apart and not worth the immense repair investment, so I decided to begin a used car search for either a 2015-2018 Subaru 3.6R or Acura TLX SH-AWD.

After a few weeks of searching I narrowed my choices down to 3 low mileage cars, 1 locally and 2 long distance.   Using the YAA email template, I contacted all 3 dealers and waited for a response.  1 wanted me to come into the dealership (over 1000 miles away) and would not entertain shipping a car.  That was the end of that path.  The other 2 responded back with OTD prices just as requested.

In the end, a dealership in Chicago got my business, Perillo BMW.   The salesman was a decent guy who didn't pressure me at all.   He answered all my questions, and he not only got me a better deal on the car (with no extra fees & charges) but also a better interest rate on the loan.   All done through emails and texts.  I never spoke to anyone over the phone.   The 2015 Acura TLX with 36k miles was shipped here a day after signing papers and arrived just as advertised.

I've bought several cars over my lifetime, and none of those experiences were pleasurable, until now.   This was easily my most painless and stress free car buying experience ever, due in part to YAA and my own patience.   Perillo deserves high marks for the way I was treated, like a fellow human and not prey.

In case anyone wanted the numbers side, here are the approximates on my OTD price:

2015 Acura TLX $21499
Freight $850 (could have been $0 if I had time to fly to Chicago and drive back)
Tax, title & registration fees $1100
IL mandated processing fee $300
Grand total:  $23749
